- matt| 4 repliesHi ive got as far as signing an agreement with I D Consultants ltd in Bolton to reduce our Business rates, all seems ok so far but ive had a few niggling doubts and now ive found this website im even more concerned. We've not paid a penny yet but now we have a case number the invioce is due....£350 plus vat.
Ive searched the net for anything on this company and found nothing bad but just wanted some reasurance!- Caller: I D Consultants Ltd

- KaybearI have been contacted by this firm too. They are ID Consultants Ltd or they call themselves IDC ltd and the reason you can't find any info is because they list under interior designers to escape bad reviews put idc ltd Bolton in a search and u will find their address and this number. They are great at convincing you to make agreements based on false claims do not deal with them as you can appeal rates yourself at no charge.

- ElaineWow glad I've found this as I was contacted to appeal my rates and they told me I had overpaid for a lot of yrs and I could get my money back, is it true or is it a scam?, the valuation office says I have no reund due but the company are adamant I do and they have secured it for me and I now have to pay their fees
.so if you can help and advise I would be grateful as I don't want o loose out on money, but I don't want to be scammed ether.- Caller: Id consulants
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Kaybear| 1 replyThey are lying, an appeal takes months and months to go through and they will not know any more than the valuation office will tell you. Your rates could go up or down, they are charging you filling out an application form you can do yourself easily. Have u signed a contract or anything?

- PM replies to mattHi Matt
In the same boat as you with IDC... how has your story panned out? Is it a scam?
Cheers - CCODo not use this company I stupidly signed an agreement with them.Once they got the money they refused to take calls and said that I had to write a letter to them to request a phone call.I still have not had any rates appeal they are a scam.
- Caller: IDC LTD
- aom| 9 repliesI have agreed by email for rates reduction and invoice has arrived for 350 + vat. Have paid half but they are pressing for balance and threatening solicitors action if I do not pay. Does anyone know where I stand with this as I cannot afford to pay and by the sound of this it is just a scam anyway.

- Marie replies to aom| 4 repliesHi Aom,
My advice is to let them take you to court as they won't as they know this is a scam and so do the courts, their whole business model is based on scamming you and is there to just extract money from people for doing nothing and I mean nothing.... Ask them for their qualifications in this field and see what they say, you will just get fobbed off, they pray on weak and vulnerable businesses, I know because I felt victim to a Bolton company a few yrs ago that surprise surprise ended up going into liquidation. Pay them nothing and go and claim your money back fom your credit card company if you paid that way as its on their lists as scams and they will not hesitate to refund you.
Hope this helps - Jacko replies to Marie| 3 repliesHi been conned by these and gonna take your advice been told going to court action next week so will keep you posted
- Hugh| 1 replyI have been contacted by ID Consultants from the above number and they claim they have received a reference number from the Valuation Office and can only proceed when I pay the £350 + VAT. Thanks to reading what has been said on this sight I have no intention of paying them. Everything has been done on the phone so I don't feel any obligation to pay them. Thanks for the advice
- Dee replies to aom| 2 repliesHi, we are in much the same situation as you and I was wondering if you have heard any more from them? I have said I don't want to proceed so am not paying but they claim I'm legally obliged to! Obviously very worried and would appreciate anyone's comments
- Jane replies to Hugh, don't pay them a penny and report them to your local trading standards office and also the police for fraud as that's what they are doing and they know it,.. They hide behind contracts and terms and conditions but any solicitor will tell you that they are guilty of mis-selling and telling you a pack of lies.
I got my money back from my credit card company as from the advise off citizens advice if you have been sold something or in my case and this case here scammed, then your credit card company does give you your money back immediately , so yes good information to know and one I have had to use several times since and has worked every time.
Good luck and don't pay the fraudsters, stand up to them and report them! - Mrs wheeler replies to Dee| 1 replyI think this company maybe part of the same set up as another company whom tried to reel me in a week ago, luckily for me there are lots of forums about them so I haven't pursued it, idc and Idbc are the names and as you can clearly see by the names they are to closely the same apart from one letter and they are doing exactly the same as each other, neither of them have websites amd the forums indicate that the same tactics are used so as the advice by all on the forums is to stay clear ,
I for one am glad I was warned. - Jenny replies to Mrs wheelerReally worried now as I've just found this on here about IDC consultants and it seems from the reviews on here that it may be a scam.
I paid these guys about three months ago when they rang me and told me i had won my case, I still haven't had my rebate and my rates are still the same, when I ring them up I can never get through, so it's not looking good! - Nick| 22 repliesI was called by this company. 1471 gave "number withheld" but Google found this website: http://www.idconsultants.org.uk/ - it looks very pukka and gives 01204385309 as the main contact number.
I'm unlikely to respond as I don't believe accepting financial advice from a cold calling company is ever a good idea.- Caller: ID Consultants Ltd

- Thankyou replies to NickThank God for this review center , I've just been saved from being a victim of their smooth talking, they had me convinced, can't believe what I'm reading and I nearly fell for it, so thanks
- sue replies to Jacko| 2 repliesI too agreed by e mail and have had invoice for 350,,,,refusing to pay and have had a letter to say that i will be taken to court by their solicitors, Im still not going to pay so waiting to hear from them
- Richard replies to sue| 1 replyTell the dodgy firm where to stick it, I did and I ain't heard out from them since, they know what they are up too and wont pursue it as they know there underhand sales tactics don't need attention..
