Number calls and hangs up when I answer.  If I call back it beeps and tells me "The other person has cleared".

i have had the same thin happen to me as well but on my mobile witch is on the 3 network

Have been getting these calls almost daily on my mobile - O2 pay as you go.  Tried to call back and wouldn't connect.  The one time that I answered, it was a man who asked me how I was and when I asked him who he was, he told me that he couldn't hear me!

i have had a total of 12 missed calles from this number, i am on o2 Iphone contract.

I have ha 3 calls from this number in the last 4 days. When I pick up I get a couple of beeps then nothing. When I tried to ring back it came up unobtainable. I am on Tesco PAYG mobile (a sublet of o2)

I just got the call too - started yesterday

I have been getting calls from this number since yesterday! Had it just now and there was a message saying "Excel communications tried to get in touch with you but could not get through, please call back" on the same number. I just called it back and got a strange recorded message too - a guy with an american accent saying something about pressing the £ sign! what?!

Received this call twice, bit wired. I always wondered how can people hung up so quickly that you haven't had a chance to say 'F*** Off'

Having had this 3 times previously with no one on the other end, I just got a call with a salesman on the other end from Excel Communications asking about my mobile usage and wanting to sell me a contact... he didn't

I got the same call from 01952 211670, the guy simple asked me to confirm my company and then bizarrely hanged up!

So I googled this number and came across this website with all your experiences.

Its not Excel Communications (HRD) Ltd in Marlow 01628 488854, they are a training company.

its Excel Communications based in Telford - 01952 290738. I spoke with someone in customer services who was extremely polite and explained the situation. I believe they work in conjunction with an Orange network, business phone contracts. Apparently they have had new software put in which automates the calls on dial out, and have now discovered a faulty in the system which cuts out during conversation. Hench why someone would call and then hang up.

@ Confidential...  Interesting, how did you come across that number?  I have spent the last ten minutes looking on google and can't find any record of that number or any company based in Telford listed as Excel telecommunications, there are listings for Excel telecommunications (UK) Ltd but with no contact details at all.  The two numbers that call me, as listed above, seem to be dead lines and the one you put in your note rings through to a fax line.

I am on Orange so that would tie in with what you said about them being a contractor but I'm still curious as to how you got that number...

Whoever these guys are, they are not doing their company name any good and I have no idea why they need to be so shady...  What are they hiding?

Just found this site about Excel Communications...  It could be a different company, but it is starting to look to me like this is an organisation comprised of independent people under a network marketing scheme - hence why it's so difficult to find out anything about 'em or contact anyone...

Got three calls from this number now - decided not to ring it back - no one there when I answer. Calls around lunchtime.

yeah its Excel Communications as stated above - they can remove your name from the database.  I spoke with a Jamie Calsall (?) in Cust Serv who said its all ok now.  we'll see...
